A World Community Grid?

Join the World Community Grid

I’ve found a wonderful use for my computer while I’m not using it.  I discovered it years ago but got side tracked as I updated often and forgot to reinitiate the programs.  It is called the World Community Grid and is working on projects we all should be helping complete.  This effort asks you to share your computer resources when you’re not using them.  It is often believed that leaving it on might present some security concerns, but it is protected because most virus or malware has entered our computers because of us, not the computer being left on.  The firewalls in your router and computer protects an inactive computer.  I’ve had a personal computer since the mid 1970’s and leave my computer on 24/7 so that when I’m not using it, the software and security can be updated and  backed up; both very important to security.   Also, the power requirements are less than an old lightbulb.

The Projects are of a Global scope and performed by sponsored certified organization (usually university grants).  Note the names and reputations involved with this process and ask yourself if they would risk their reputations.   Please learn more at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ and consider joining my team TEXAS Hill Country id:  24767 or create your own.  There are no physical rewards for doing so.  You and I may not receive the benefits but perhaps the future will continue being a better, healthier, and safer place to live.  I am a proud provider of such a little commitment.
