We’re often curious about small business entrepreneurs and website owners, as to what skills and experiences enticed them to their business or passion; so here’s our short story.
Linda and Ken met many years ago through professional jobs with Fortune 100 companies that provided them many administrative resources to improve their effectiveness in assigned jobs. Linda was training new features and Ken was in the class and convinced her that he needed help on homework (sounds like a drink after work doesn’t it). If not “love at first sight” it was certainly a mutual respect for talents and the ability to have fun together. As corporate jobs matured to successful endings and the child were fixin’ to leave the nest, a spirit of entrepreneurship engulfed them and they started their own business in Carrollton Texas – H.O.P. S. (Home Office Postal Services) . A slab in a small strip mall, designed and built by Ken and Linda became a business featured in Business Start-UPs magazine. This was where the honing of skills to market and design took place. With clients that expected corporate resources but now had to work at home; HOPS was the answer with their professional level administrative assistant services and equipment. After a successful 9 years, a client of the store purchased the store and Ken and Linda became officially retired. They decided to travel the USA in a motor-home bus like gypsies. The photography turned from a longtime hobby into the passion to capture the beauties of the U.S.A. for the memories. Many times the photos just didn’t bring justice to the beauties further driving the interest in making photos more reflective of what your sight and mind delilvers to the senses. Ken and Linda landed in Pecan Plantation while visiting friends in the area and couldn’t resist the beauty, amenities and the friendly atmosphere. Since settling near Granbury (a most beautiful and friendly historic city of Texas), photography slowed down while they remodeled an older home and Linda became a master gardener to enhance her gardening. The gardening got the photography back in swing for Ken. The entrepreneurial spirit rose it’s head again and now they have invested time and money preparing to challenge the Granbury area with this exciting sensation. It’s more than picture-taking that they hope to bloom and hope you will entertain their offerings. There is really no interest in becoming a thriving business because we both love retirement and owning our days but do hope some will find our efforts valuable so that Ken can fund his passion.
